Brazora founded LevyIO with a simple thesis: most tax sites bury accurate IRS-grade data under marketing fluff, paywalls, and signup walls. LevyIO does the opposite — every bracket, limit, and rule on this site cites a primary government source (IRS Revenue Procedures, state revenue departments, BLS, FRED), gets cross-checked against the official source, and updates within 24 hours of any IRS announcement.

Background: a decade building data-intensive web platforms before turning that obsession with clean data structures toward US tax code. Brazora is a software engineer by training and a tax-data archivist by curiosity — the kind of person who reads Rev. Proc. release PDFs the day they drop. Personally responsible for the calculator math review on this site: if a number is wrong, it's on Brazora.

Editorial standards

LevyIO content is held to four non-negotiable standards:

  1. Primary sourcing only. No “experts say” or unsourced statistics. Every bracket, deduction, contribution limit, and rate cites the IRS revenue procedure, state DOR website, or federal data series (BLS, FRED) by name and date.
  2. Calculator math review. Every calculator on the site is unit-tested against IRS worked examples. When the IRS publishes Pub 17 / Pub 505 examples, our calculators must match to the dollar.
  3. Update SLA. When the IRS announces new contribution limits (typically October-November) or tax brackets (Rev. Proc.), we update within 24 hours and timestamp the change visibly.
  4. No advice. LevyIO is an information and calculation site. We don't give personalized tax advice; for filing decisions, you should work with a CPA, EA, or tax attorney. We surface the data; you and your professional make the call.

What we're not

LevyIO is not a CPA firm. Brazora is not licensed as a CPA, enrolled agent, or tax attorney. We do not prepare returns, represent taxpayers before the IRS, or provide individual tax advice. If you need licensed tax help, the IRS maintains a directory of credentialed preparers at IRS.gov RPO directory.

Corrections policy

If you spot an error on the site — a wrong rate, an outdated bracket, a calculator that disagrees with the IRS — email [email protected]. Confirmed errors are corrected within 48 hours and the change is logged in the page footer with date and author signature. Material errors (wrong tax math) are flagged with an Erratum notice for 30 days.

Funding

LevyIO is independent. We don't accept paid placement, don't take affiliate kickbacks for tax software referrals, and don't do sponsored content. The site is supported by contextual display advertising — never by inserting biased content into calculators.
